Lina Carvalho
The IAP – PM of the Faculty of Medicine at the University of Coimbra - FMUC – started in 1956 and the discipline of Pathology was installed in 1863.
The actual IAP-PM Institute has a new face since 2003 under the Direction of Professor Lina Carvalho.
IAP-PM ensures Pathology to Master Students of Medicine and Dentistry of the Faculty of Medicine at the University of Coimbra, as well scientific support to Master and PhD Thesis, with or without research design.
In parallel, the Institute maintains a Community Service within Histopathology, Cytopathology and Molecular Pathology Diagnosis.
Scientific research in various fields of Pathology and Molecular Pathology, particularly related with Lung Diseases and Experimental Pathology, has been largely recognized in Portugal and abroad, with scientific awards.
